First stop is at the view site at the University of Natal with a spectacular view overlooking the city of Durban and Durban Harbour. This is followed by a leisurely drive along Victoria Embankment, through the city and past the stunning City Hall to the “Golden Mile” beach front. A visit to Durban would not be complete without a visit to the famous 15 hectare Botanical Gardens, the oldest botanic gardens in Africa, established in 1849. Home to the following four major plant collections, Orchids, Palms, Cycads and Bromeliads. A light lunch of toasted sandwiches and refreshments is included. After lunch a drive to the Umgeni Bird Park and a spectacular bird show at 2pm. From 4-6pm a visit to “The Original Indian Market” which is Victoria Street Market, a world of fascinating Eastern and African treasures, providing two hours of retail therapy. TOUR OPTION 2 - FULL DAY TOUR TO SHAKALAND Depart from Durban at 8.30am for a 1 ˝ hour drive from Durban to Shakaland, situated in the NkawaleniValley. “The Greatest Zulu Experience in Africa” Morning tea in the African bush followed by the11.00 am tour of Shakaland for 2 hours, including a 40 minute Zulu Dancing experience which will keep you spellbound. TOUR OPTION 3 - FULL DAY TOUR TO LION PARK, TALA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE, PHEZULU SAFARI PARK, CROCODILE & SNAKE PARK Depart from Durban at 8.00am for a 40 minute drive to Tala Private Game Reserve, a 7000 acre reserve, where you will encounter Rhino, Buffalo, Giraffe, Zebra, Wildebeest, Hippo and a wide variety of Antelope on a 90 minute game drive. This is followed by a 20 minute drive to the Lion Park where lions can be photographed at close quarters. A short drive to PheZulu Safari Park, set in the Valley of 1000 Hills, for lunch, followed by Zulu Dancing and Culture Show. Also experience the Crocodile and Snake Park with live shows. Returning to your hotel in the late afternoon.
